How To Apply Mineral Makeup
Mineral Foundation: The brush is key to the proper application of mineral foundation. Be sure you are using one of our brushes recommended for this purpose. Pick up the minerals with your brush, tap off the excess and buff onto your skin. Buff really well and apply more if your need more blending and buffing as you go.
To Make Liquid Foundation: Get a small amount of your favorite moisturizer and mix in desired amount of loose mineral foundation and apply. You will have to get the consistency that works best for you.
Veils: We use our foundation brush to apply our veils. Pick up small amount and tap off excess then buff gently onto your skin.
Concealers: Using your concealer brush pick up a small amount of concealer, tap off excess and either pat or buff into area you would like to cover. If tapping into an area, make sure to go back in and blend gently with your foundation so that you do not remove the coverage by buffing the area too much. We usually apply our concealer before foundation.
Multipurpose Minerals:
Eye Shadow: For an eye shadow use an eye shadow brush, pick up a small amount of the minerals and tap off excess and apply to your lids. Remember that dark colors will give the appearance of receding and lighter colors will bring out an area. For a more intense look, apply our Multipurpose Minerals wet or over a lid primer.
Eye Liner: Any of our multipurpose minerals can be made into an eyeliner. Because you will be applying around the eye area, use a mixing medium such as purified water or our Eyeliner Sealer to mix your minerals for eyeliner. Put a drop of mixing medium into a clean lid or container of choice and dip your eyeliner brush into the drop to get moist, add some of the minerals in with your brush and mix to the desired consistency. Then apply with liner brush close to lash line and let dry. If using your container lid to mix the colors, be sure to wipe clean and dry before re-covering your product. Blush and Bronzers: The minerals are very concentrated and we have found that the best way to apply our mineral blush or bronzers is to use a small makeup brush. Pick up a small amount of the minerals on your brush, tap off excess and place wherever you may like, cheeks, nose, chin etc..
Body Shimmer (Magic Dust): Our body shimmer can be applied by using a brush or cotton ball. Pick up minerals. Tap off excess and apply to desired area.
Glitter Lotion: You can mix any of the Multipurpose Minerals with your choice of lotion and apply to your skin.
Lip Gloss: Any of our multipurpose minerals can be used to make a gloss, with the exception of the blue and green colors. You can get an empty container and put clear gloss in and blend in your choice of colors. To make a color more intense you can put in more of the mineral color you choose. You can also apply gloss to your lips and then apply a mineral color of your choice over it. Or you can apply with a lip balm. Dip balm into minerals and apply to lips.
Nail Polish: Since our minerals do not contain dye no base coat is necessary when adding minerals to clear polish. You may use a clear polish and add the mineral of your choice to it, mix well and polish as usual. You may also add the mineral of your choice to alter the color of any colored polish. If this is the case, use a basecoat. For best results always use a top coat.
Hair: You can mix any of the Multipurpose Minerals with some gel or mousse to give your hair some color or sparkle. You can be as creative as you want. It washes out easily!
